HELEN HINDS Tupelo- Helen Hinds, 85, of East Tupelo, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born May 27, 1929 in Itawamba County to Carrol Parham and Jewel Estes Parham. She married Leonard L. Hinds on January 19, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 29, 2014. She owned and operated Helen's Beauty Shop in East Tupelo in the early 60's - 70's, later became a full-time Mom and homemaker. She returned to work in the 80's, as head of housekeeping at the Holiday Inn in Tupelo until retiring. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2014 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery, east of Saltillo. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Jo Moore and husband, Johnny "J.D." of Saltillo; the loves of her life, granddaughters, Johnna Rachel Moore and fiancé, Marshall Faulkner and Abby Christina Moore, all of Saltillo; sister, Evelyn Hill and brother, Wylie Parham both of the Unity Community; sisters-in-law, Virginia McMillian and Bobbie Nell Hinds of the Ratliff Community and Lorene Hinds of East Tupelo. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Parham; sisters-in-law, Lila Mae and Betty Parham; brothers-in-law, Ralph and Leroy Hinds, Dean Hill and John McMillian; in-laws, Earl and Ima Hinds. Pallbearers will be Gary Merritt, Marshall Faulkner, Steve Parham, Dale Parham and Bruce Farley. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the W. E. Pegues, Saltillo.
