Tupelo - Hazel Adderholt Tucker, 93, died Sunday, January 9, 2011, at the Green Houses At Traceway after an extended illness. She was born in Tupelo on March 11, 1917 to John and Lucy On Adderholt. She was a very active member of Harrisburg Baptist Church since 1937, where she taught childrens Sunday School classes for over 40 years and helped with Vacation Bible School every year. In 1937, she began working in the Tupelo City School System and served as manager of the caferteria at Joyner, Rankin, and Thomas Street until her retirement in 1982. She was the widow of Clifton Reid Tucker whom she married June 11, 1935.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2011 at The Jefferson Street Chapel with Dr. Forrest Sheffield and Rev. David Langerfeld officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include one son, Johnny Reid Tucker of Tupelo; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Reid Tucker in 1998; her parents; four brothers, Troy, Carl, Eulis and Buddy Adderholt; three sisters, Nola Cantrell, Bessie Blackwell and Daisy Randle.
Pallbearers will be Andy Anderson, James Wilemon, Dale Breland, Kevin Coward, Mike Maynard and Chuck Davis.
Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
