Hazel Hall

Tupelo--Martha Hazel Hall passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023 at the Sunshine Healthcare Facility in Pontotoc after a lengthy illness. She was 95 years old. Born January 14, 1928 Hazel was the daughter of William Owen Sheffield and Amanda Holland Sheffield. She was a longtime resident of Verona and the widow of Henry Eugene Hall to whom she was married for over 60 years. Hazel was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and quilting. She was a dedicated member of Verona United Methodist Church. She participated in two international mission trips. Hazel was a prayer warrior for her friends and family she loved so dearly.
Hazel leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her niece and caregivers, Shelia Shoemaker and her husband, Drew of Tupelo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Eugene Hall; a son, Stephen Hall; brothers, Flaudy, Lenerd, Oliver, and Edgar Sheffield; and her sisters, Eula Mae Gardner, Maxine Sheffield, Irene Foster, Mildred Grammer, and Dorothy Culver.
Visitation will be 9:30 until 11 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Verona United Methodist Church. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Jeremy Funderburk officiating. Burial will be in Verona City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Raines, Forest Shoemaker, Levi Grammer, John Foster, Chris Foster, and Wesley Foster.
In lieu of flowers Hazel has requested memorials be made to Verona United Methodist Church P.O. Box 370 Verona, Mississippi 38879.
