Germantown, Tennessee formerly of Tupelo - Harold David Turner, 80, died Friday, November 9, 2018, at Methodist Germantown Healthcare after a lengthy illness. He was born in Tupelo June 1, 1938, to Jewel Doris and Helen Keirle Turner and had been a resident of Germantown for 47 years. He received his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering in 1960 from Mississippi State University where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. In 1968, he married the former, Barbara Sue Brown at Christ United Methodist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. After serving a number of years in the Army Reserves, he was honorably discharged in 1969. He worked for 25 years before retiring as Vice-President of Memphis Light, Gas and Water. After retirement, he opened Computer Power Solutions. He enjoyed spending time at the lake with friends and family and loved to travel. He was a member of Collierville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Sue Brown Turner of Germantown; one son, Justin D. Turner and his wife, Jennifer of Lake Bluff, Illinois; one grandson, David Melsheimer Jr. of Dallas, Texas; two nephews, David Turner of Madison and Tommy Turner of Tupelo; two nieces, Julie Pickle of Houston, Texas and Blake Brown of Memphis; and two great-nephews, Aiden and Finn DeEmo of Lake Bluff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Helen Turner; one daughter, Dorothy Elizabeth Turner; and one brother, Frank R. Turner.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time Thursday, November 15, 2018 at W.E. Pegues Saltillo.
Services honoring his life will be 2 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues. Graveside services will follow in Saltillo Cemetery.
