Harold Livingston

September 21, 1925 — November 19, 2008

Tupelo - Harold O'Neal Livingston, 83, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at his residence at Traceway Retirement Village after a sudden illness. A Tupelo native, he was born September 21, 1925 to Hilary Adolphus and Rachel Estelle Alexander Livingston. He was a graduate of Tupelo High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He worked for Tupelo Water and Light for over 40 years as Warehouse Manager. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. An avid gardener, he enjoyed spending time working outside. Along with his wife, Mary, he also enjoyed sporting activities of his grandsons.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Paul Brashier officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include one son, Dennis W. Livingston of Tupelo; two step-sons, Ron Harlow and wife, Debra, of Huntsville, Ala. and Steve Harlow and wife, Patti, of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Jo Watson and husband, George, of Tupelo; two grandsons, Troy Livingston of Houston, Tex. and Jager Livingston of Tupelo; his daughter-in-law, Tina Livingston of Houston, Tex. ; and one brother-in-law, Buddy Hall of Verona.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and the mother of his children, Lazette Jaggers Livingston; his second wife of 16 years, Mary Ella Livingston who died January 25, 2007; his son Ronnie Livingston; one sister, Mary Hall; and four brothers, Roy, Paul, James and Byron Livingston.

Pallbearers will be David Anthony, Chuck Bunn, Greg Bell, Andy Witt, Bobby Wages, and Billy Lowry.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2008 at the funeral home.
