Harold Dean May



Tupelo - Harold Dean May, 79, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017, at his residence. He was born August 20, 1938, to Henry Carl and Bernice  Swain May in Lafayette County and lived there throughout his childhood. Harold served in the Army from 1958-1960 and worked as a sales representative for Orgill, Inc for 38 years. He was married his first wife Peggy May until her death in 2001. In 2004, he married Marilyn May. He was an avid Ole Miss fan and enjoyed golfing. Harold was loved tremendously by his family. He was a member of First Baptist Church.



Survivors include Wife, Marilyn May; daughter, Tara Lyle (Parker); son, Mark May (Amanda); step children, Kathy Martin, Amy Kirby (Chaz), Paul Megginson (Jamie); grandchildren, Joshua McGloflin (Lisa), Aubrey Lyle, Katie May, Anna Caroline May; great-grandchild Vivian McGloflin and a host of step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents and one step son Steve Megginson.



Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm Sunday, December 17, 2017, at First Baptist Church.



Services will be 3:30 pm Sunday, December 17, 2017, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Young, Rev. Matt Powell officiating. Graveside services to follow at Lee Memorial Park.



Pallbearers will be Johnny Gory, Hal Hancock, Jerry Duckett, Bobby Gory, Eddie Tate, Jonathan Powell, Julian Hodge Bobby Privett and Ellison Barham.



The service will be live streamed and recorded for those who may not be able to attend at www.peguesfuneralhome.com .
