Gwen Lyle

Mooreville - Gwen Lyle, 66, died Sunday, January 21, 2018, at her residence in Mooreville from injuries sustained in a house fire. She was born in Baldwyn July 11, 1951, to Regnal and Geneva Smith Lyle. She was raised in Illinois and had lived around 25 years in Phenix City, Alabama before moving to Mooreville. Earlier in life, Gwen worked as a press operator for Tuscarora Plastics in Tupelo. She had a free spirit and truly loved her family. She was of the Baptist faith.



The family would like to express their appreciation for Sean, Terry and Kim as well as all those with the Mooreville Fire Department and Lee County Sheriff's Department for working so diligently attempting to save her life.



Survivors include one son, John Lyle and wife, Brooke of Amory; one sister, Kathy Jackson and husband, Danny of Mooreville; one brother, Eddie Lyle of the Eggville Community; one grandson, Chase Lyle and numerous nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents.



Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Mark Hoover officiating.



Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors, Tupelo.



Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Brown, Jason Lyle, Brandon Lyle, Eddie Lyle, Jr., Daniel Gunter and James Patterson.
