GRACE MORRIS
Nettleton - Grace Morris, 74, died Sunday, September 24, 2006, at her residence after an extended illness. A Lee Coounty native, she was born March 6, 1932 to the late Edward and Fannie Tackett Hester. She enjoyed writing, gardening, fishing, art, but most of all, spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Baptist church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Jimmy Tackett officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Jake Morris, of Nettleton; three daughters, Cathy McCrory and husband, Robert, of Tremont, Vicky Gunter and husband, Mike, of Plantersville, Jenny Davis and husband, Barry Barton, of Nettleton; one sister, Eddie Ruth McWhorter and husband, Fred, of Troy; eight grandchildren, Cindy Sartin of Tremont, Robbie McCrory of Tremont, Mike Gunter of Plantersville, Andy Gunter of Plantersville, Jackie McCrory of Tupelo, Shad Davis of Nettleton, Nikki Gunter of Plantersvile, and Byron Godwin of Nettleton; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Andy Morris; and two brothers, Pete and Loyd Hester.
Pallbearers will be Cindy Sartin, Robbie McCrory, Mike Gunter, Andy Gunter, Jackie McCrory, Shad Davis, Nikki Gunter, Jesse Jetton,Byron Godwin, Stephanie Gunter, Mikey Gunter, Josh Gilmer, and Martha Duckworth.
Visitation will continue Tuesday 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home
