Franklin, Kentucky, formerly of Tupelo--Mr. Gordon Dale Phillips, 88, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023, at his home in Franklin, Kentucky. A Tupelo native, he was the son of the late U. C. Phillips and Mellie Moore Phillips. Gordon was a member of Franklin First Baptist Church. During his lengthy career, he was quality manager for Rockwell Manufacturing Company in Tupelo, Quality Director for North American Industries in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Quality Manager for Sealed Power in Franklin, Kentucky. He was an avid duck hunter and fisherman. He was a mason and member of the Tupelo Masonic Lodge #318 F&AM.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Phillips and his wife, Leann, of Franklin, Kentucky, and Pete Phillips and his wife, Mary Beth, of Tupelo; one sister, Melanie Joyce Alexander of Milton, Georgia; one brother, Jimmy Ray Phillips of Columbus; along with six grandchildren, Peyton, Nowlin, and Cameron Scoggins, John, Dillon, and Evan Phillips; and with six great-grandchildren.
Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Phillips; daughter, Alyce Phillips; brother, Gary Phillips; and two sisters, Joan Ellis and Judy Gail Clements.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Tupelo Memorial Park. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the local arrangements.
