GORDON L. ANDREWS
Tupelo - Gordon Lee Andrews, 88, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Sanctuary Hospice House surrounded by his family. He was born October 13, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan and was a resident of Pontotoc and Tupelo for the past 47 years. He served his country in the Korean War as an MP and earned the rank of Corporal. Gordon was a member of East Main Church of Christ. His greatest love was his family.
Survivors include his sons, Skip Andrews (Helen) of Dresden, Tennessee and Tim Andrews (Connie) of Pontotoc; daughters, Diane Holaway of Nashville, Tennessee and Marianne Hurst (James) of Tupelo; sister, Jerrie Ann Wilson of Detroit, Michigan; special friend to the family, Joanne "Irish" Robertson; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Wanda Andrews; parents, Homer and Rose Decker Andrews; brother, Ron Andrews and son-in-law, Randy Holaway.
Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2017, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Skip Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Holaway, Rick Holaway, Michael Andrews, Charles and Lori Franks, Drew Hurst, Cory Kizer, Tony Carter, Nathaniel Null, Ronnie Russell and Chris Downs.
