GLORIA BELL Guntown - Gloria Harrelson Bell, 83, died Monday, August 20, 2012, at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility after an extended illness. She was born in Tupelo on July 14, 1929, to John and Henrietta Wheeler Harrelson. In 1947 she graduated from Tupelo High School, and then married her husband George of 62 years. Earlier in their married life, they lived in Memphis for 9 years before returning to the Lee County area and resided in the Cedar Hill Community West of Guntown for the remainder of their lives. For a couple of years she worked at McGuaghy's before beginning her 21 year career with BancorpSouth from which she retired in 1994. She and her husband were members of the Mississippi Square and Round Dance Association for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Home Demostration Club of the Cedar Hill Community and a former member of the RCDC. She was a longtime member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church West of Guntown. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Bobby Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Pat Henson (William) and Georgia A. Bell both of Guntown; two grandchildren, John Robert Henson (Kim K.) of Guntown and Kim Henson Edwards (Mike) of Belden; two sisters, Joyce Ann Harrelson and Beverly Jane Harrelson both of Pueblo West, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one daughter, Brenda Diane Bell. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Mississippi Square and Round Dance Association. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service time on Thursday.
