GLEN F. ALEXANDER

Tupelo - Glen F. Alexander, 84, long time Tupelo businessman and entrepreneur, died Sunday, January 3, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born September 7, 1931 to John Thomas and Edith Opaline Stevens Alexander.  A 1950 graduate of Tupelo High School, he then went on to join the Army. Glen completed his basic training in Ft. Leonardwood, Mo., and was stationed in Yuba City, California during the Korean Conflict. While in California he attended Bethany Bible College and graduated with a Bachelors Degree. He was also ordained in the Assemblies of God. Glen eventually returned to the Tupelo area in 1979. He was a past president of the North Mississippi Home Builders Association and along with his son cofounded Success Homes. Glen was a member of King's Gate Worship Center.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016, at King's Gate Worship Center with Pastor Terry Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Priceville Cemetery in the care of W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Annie Beckham Alexander; children, Stephen T. Alexander (Libby) of Tupelo, George F. Alexander (Niki) of Nashville, Tenn., Glenda C. Alexander Kleppinger (Ed) of Liberty, Mo., Becky D. Alexander Strathdee (Tim) of Springfield, Mo., Karen A. Alexander of Tupelo, Randy D. Alexander (Sharon) of Tupelo, Sheri K. Alexander Goodman (Merrill) of Alaska and Teri F. Alexander Vigil (Isaac) of Roy, Utah; brother, John S. Alexander of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Anna Laura Alexander Irvin of Ocala, Fla.; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Michael Andrew Alexander; sisters, Joann Daniszewski and Naomi Jackson and brothers, Charles Alexander and Billy Alexander.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Hudson and men's Sunday school class.  Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
