GLADWIN SNIPES Safety Harbor, FL - Gladwin Gilbert Snipes, 84, died Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Consulate Healthcare of Safety Harbor in Florida. He was born in Northville, Michigan on February 26, 1932 to Frank Lamar and Audrie Fay Lowery Snipes. His early life was spent mostly in Tupelo and he was a 1950 graduate of Tupelo High School. During this time, he also attended First Baptist Church, Tupelo. He was the widow of Sybil McKinney who passed away December 3, 2002. He earned his B.B.A. from Mississippi State. He worked as Vice-President, Personnel with Jim Walter, Inc, headquartered in Tampa, Florida for 32 years. A celebration of his life will be 3 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Ricky Young officiating and special music by Randy Wood of First Baptist Church, Tupelo. Graveside services will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Ann Ferguson of Clearwater, Florida and Angela Schaack of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren, Paul, Laura, and Adam Schaack and Chase Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lowery Lamar Snipes. Visitation will be 2 - 3 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo. Expressions of sympathy may be left at
