Gerald Parker

Gerald Wayne Parker passed away on December 28, 2022 at the North Mississippi Medical Center at the age of 83. He was born on September 28, 1939 to Miles Parker and Frances McCarthy Parker (Morrow). He spent the majority of his working career as a truck driver. He drove for Malone & Hyde until the closure of the Tupelo plant and retired from CMT Trucking.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gloria Miles Parker of Saltillo; two daughters, Paula Russell (Marc) of Unity, and Deanna Parker (Brian Copeland) of Blackland; his grandson, Blake Russell of Unity; and one brother, Robert Parker (Linda) of Saltillo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Gene Morrow.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2023 at Pegues, Saltillo. Services honoring his memory will follow at 1 p.m. Monday at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Bryan Letson officiating. Burial will be at Lee Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Blake Russell, Leon Hulsey, Dale Letson, Ricky Figures, Lee Hulsey, and Brian Copeland.
