Georgia “Lillan” Russell
Nettleton- Georgia Ann “Lillan” Russell at the age of 78 joined her husband, Jerry in Heaven on Sunday, November 14, 2021. She was born in Tupelo to George McCollum and Lilly Sullivan McCollum on September 23, 1943. On August 20, 1977, she married Jerry Russell. After numerous years as a seamstress, she retired from Mid-South Packers and worked for Carpenter Enterprises in Dorsey. She was a member of Richmond Pentecostal Church. Georgia loved animals particularly dogs, but nothing compares to her love of family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping, gospel singing, praying, and sitting on her front porch relaxing.
Georgia leaves behind her precious family including her three children, Gail Gray and her husband, Glenn, of Nettleton, Tommy Cruse and his wife, Pam, of Nettleton, and Teresa Harris and her husband, Jerry, of Saltillo; eleven grandchildren, Charlie Gray (Rachel), Jackie Whitmon, Michelle Gray (Ricky West), Thomas Gray (Mandi), Jessica Reynolds, Tiffany Cruse, Cody Cruse (Leslie Holliday), Crissa Cruse, Kala Lee, Chasity Tate (C. C.) and Lacretia Harris (Timmy Wade); 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, George “Cooter” McCullum (Linda) of the Evergreen Community.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Lyn Cruse, and Justin Reynolds; four sisters; and five brothers.
Visitation will be 5 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Ricky Pierce and Bro. Sammy Raper officiating. Graveside services will follow at New Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Gray, Coy Harris, Chris Tate, Brandon Gray, Devon West, and Cody Cruse.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carson Barnard and Elijah Barnard.
