Saltillo - William George Epperson, 73, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born May 14, 1935 in Anderson, Missouri to Graydon L. and Hazel M. Betts Epperson. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of Mayfield Church of Christ. His years of employment included Blue Bell and 28 years with Leggett & Platt as a Quality Control Inspector. He loved children and was loved by his many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Fred Webb officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Joan Webb Epperson, of Saltillo; one brother, Bob Epperson and wife, Betty, of Grove, Oklahoma; two sisters, Annabelle Kirby and husband, Dale, of Grove, Oklahoma and Jadeen Osborne and husband, Ralph of Bristow, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Fred Webb of Hatley; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Webb Swindle of Claxton, Tennessee, Shirley Neaves Webb of Hatley and Kay Webb Pope of Baldwyn.
He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew George Epperson; an infant son, his parents and a brother, Roy Epperson.
Pallbearers will be Sammy Wyers, David Swindle, Hugh Glaze, Mark Parham and Leslie Pope.
Honorary Pallbearers are other nephews and great nephews.
Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
