GEORGE EMISON
Slate Springs - George Walker Emison, 81, died Sunday December 31, 2006 at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo after an extended illness. He was born August 13, 1925 in Alamo, Tennessee to the late Hallie and Lucy Casey Emison. He was a long time Lee County and Tupelo Businessman and had been a resident of Slate Springs in Calhoun County for the last years of his life. He was a member of Boguefala Baptist Church in Mooreville.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tupelo Memorial Park with Rev. Roger Franks officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Glenda Fuller and her husband, Jesse, of Brentwood, Tennessee, Charlotte Weaver and her husband, Jerry of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and Pam Russell and her husband, Freddie D. of Tupelo; three sons, Sammy Emison and his wife, Dianne, of Corinth, George Emison and his wife, Filomena, and Barry Emison and his wife, Treny, all of Tupelo; two step-children, Eddie Coker and his wife, Diane, of Shannon, and James Coker of Tupelo; 23 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren.
His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
