Gary Cushman Crawford

GARY CRAWFORD Guntown - Gary Cushman Crawford, 75, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Los Angeles, California on October 9, 1937 to Evertt Cushman and Ruth Lillian Tripp Crawford. He retired as manager of Hodges Printing of Booneville, after 30 years of service. An avid sports fan he loved watching the Green Bay Packers, Ole Miss Rebels and Atlanta Braves. Solving crossword puzzles and reading were among his favorite hobbies. He loved his family and will be greatly missed. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Marquitta Dulaney and Rev. Melvin Crowley officiating. Survivors include six daughters, Cindy Sue Cavanaugh (Patrick) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Frances "Sissy" Wren of Guntown, Mary Lou Wages (Mancell) of Pontotoc, Debbie "Tater" Williams (Rodney) of Pontotoc, Patty Tackitt (Mike) of Guntown and Nancy "Baby Girl" Crawford Smith (Jeremy) of Pontotoc; one son Gary Crawford Jr. (Maria) of Norfolk, Virginia; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and six great-great-granchildren; and special caregiver Jeana Norman of Tupelo. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Pat and Barbara, two grandchildern Tyler Dabbs and Jeremy New. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, James Crawford, Charles "Bo" Strickland, Steven Strickland, Chris Wardlow, Tommy Wardlow, Kendall Tackitt, Michael Tackitt and Thomas "Bubba" Keith. Visitation 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
