Freddie “Fred” Sparks

Blue Springs – Freddie “Fred” Sparks, 82, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born April 1, 1935 in Silver City, Mississippi.

Freddie married E. Louise Malone May 16, 1954. He was a mechanic by trade and long-time employee at Super Sagless (Leggett & Platt) until his retirement.

Freddie is survived by his wife of 63 years, E. Louise Sparks of Blue Springs; daughters, Gail Burke (Paul) of Moores Hill, Indiana, Christine Sheffield (Rebel) of Blue Springs and Debbie Feist (Richard) of Blue Springs; son, Mike “McGoo” McRee (Lesbia) of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister, Janice McBrayer (Jerry) of Saltillo; brother, Jimmy Sparks (Nancy) of Macedonia; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lela Hendrix Sparks; son, Michael Sparks; brothers, Phillip and Jerry Sparks; and sisters, Paulette Lindsey and Barbara Voithoffer.

Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2017 at W. E. Pegues, Saltillo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials (donations) may be made in his name to your local humane society/animal shelter or charity of your choice.
