Saltillo - Fred Thomas Thom Franks, III, 29, died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a short illness. A native of Saltillo, he was born May 27, 1980. He was a member of Saltillo United Methodist Church. He loved his children and family. He was an avid fan of NASCAR racing and loved to water ski. About six years ago he was involved in a motorcycle accident which left him disabled.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Tim Green officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery.
Survivors include his parents, Fred Thomas Franks, Jr. and his wife Carin of Saltillo; two daughters, Abbey Franks and Calli Franks of Goldsboro, North Carolina; one son, Hunter Franks of Saltillo; a special family friend, Brooke Peters of Guntown; one sister, Sydney Franks of Saltillo; two brothers, Tyler Franks of Nashville, Tennessee and Cameron Franks of Saltillo; his grandparents, Fred Franks, Sr. of Saltillo and Mary Abbot of Hattisburg.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lois Franks.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Easterling, Michael Mason, David Stasco, Ricky Franks, Tory Cox, Justin Curry, and Joshua Blythe.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Campbell, Brian Holloman, Michael Sudduth, Cole Robison, and Caleb Robison.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2010 at Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues.
