FRANKIE R. KIRKPATRICK Saltillo - Frankie Ruth Kirkpatrick, 91, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born August 25, 1920 to Robert Alexander and Dollie Lee Wade Kirkpatrick. Earlier in her life, she was hired by Ward Xerxes Wilson with the Lee County Welfare Office where she worked for 5 years. Frankie then spent 9 years with the Peoples Bank and Trust Company. She moved to Memphis and begin a long career with Schumaker Mortgage Company retiring after 33 years of service. Upon retirement Frankie moved back home to the Saltillo area where she resided for the remainder of her life. She was an avid cook and received great joy in life by cooking for others. Family was very important to her and she doted over them and those she considered her extended family. She was known for her stories of the Tupelo and Saltillo areas and the people who resided there throughout the years. She was also known for her strong political views and was known as a lifelong Democrat. Frankie was a long and faithful member of Saltillo Presbyterian Church. Graveside Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Saltillo Cemetery with Dr. Charles E. Holland officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include two sisters, Emogene Kirkpatrick of Saltillo, and Earlene Sullivan of Houston, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Kirkpatrick; and a half brother; Claude Wilson. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Long, Jeff Reeder, Rev. Jay Stanley, Stephen Bailey, Herman Erwin, Charles Barber, Al Rice, Clyde Neaves, Jim Repult, Charles Caldwell. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2012 at the W. E. Pegues, Tupelo. Memorials may be made to Saltillo Presbyterian Church, 187 Second Avenue, Saltillo, MS 38866.
