FRANCES YARBROUGH Tupelo - Frances Yarbrough passed away peacefully at the Sanctuary Hospice House Friday, October 18, 2013, after an extended battle with heart disease. She was born April 20, 1927, in the Union Community to Homer and Winnie Griffin. She grew up with her two sisters, Minnie (Marion) and Sue (Sherman). They were early members of Union Methodist Church later moving to St. Luke Methodist Church while working as a telephone operator for Southern Bell for thirty-two years. She met David Yarbrough over a phone call and married and had one child, Boyd (Lillian) in 1954. She loved her three grandchildren, Chris Yarbrough, Fran Clardy (Daniel) and David Yarbrough (Jeanne). She especially loved her two great-grandchildren, Lylla and Griffin Clardy. She enjoyed taking care of those kids as well as sewing and gardening and was very good with a skillet. Aunt Sisty loved her many nephews and nieces as her own. A service celebrating her long happy life will be held 1 p.m. Monday, October 21, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors. A graveside service will follow at Lee Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be David Yarbrough, Chris Yarbrough, Daniel Clardy, Byron Fellows, Bob Marion and Daniel Sherman. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Ballard, David Sherman, Kirk Caldwell and David Puddister. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. till service time Monday, October 21, 2013, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please be generous to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the American Heart Association.
