Plantersville - Frances Louise Dunlap Mattox, 74, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at her residence after an extended illness. A Pontotoc County native, she was born September 8, 1932 to Katie McCord Dunlap and the late Omia Franklin Dunlap. She was a member of Tupelo Church of God.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Tupelo Church of God with Rev. Jack Ezell officiating. Burial will be in Mattox Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her mother, Katie McCord Dunlap of Algoma; two daughters, Ollie McCormick and husband, Gary, of Plantersville and Dollie Pickering and husband, Rocky, of Plantersville, two sons, Don Mattox and wife, Jan, of Sherman and Doug Mattox, and wife, Terri, of Plantersville; eight grandchildren, Chris McCormick and wife, Jamie, of Booneville, Jason McCormick and wife, Autumn, of Plantersville, Don McCormick and wife, Kayla, of Tupelo, Rocky Pickering, Jr. and wife, Meranda, of Pontotoc, Rocky James Pickering and wife, Jamie of Tupelo, Maggie Mattox and Josh Mattox, both of Sherman, Marla Mattox of Plantersville; four great-grandchildren, Sara Beth McCormick, Georgia McCormick both of Booneville, and Samantha and Rjay Pickering of Pontotoc; two sisters, Brenda Betts and husband, Herman, and Janell Stewart and husband, Exie, all of Algoma; six brothers, Barnes Dunlap and wife, Joann, of Pontotoc, Samuel Dunlap and wife, Quple, of Algoma, Carey Dunlap and wife, Martha, of Pelham, Ala., Harold Dunlap and wife, Betty, of Huntsville, Ala., Robert Dunlap of Columbus, and Danny Dunlap and wife, Glenda, of Algoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, James Mattox; her father, Omia Franklin Dunlap; a granddaughter, Keely Mattox; a sister, Janice Dunlap and two brothers, Charles Dunlap and William Dunlap.
Pallbearers will be Rocky Pickering Jr., Rocky James Pickering, Chris McCormick, Jason McCormick, Don McCormick, Josh Mattox and Ray Mattox
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dennis Hall and Matt Hall.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
