Tupelo- Frances Bates, 84, died Thursday, February 12, 2009, at Rosewood Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. Born April 15, 1924 to Monts and Ethel High Hall, she lived in Tupelo most of her life. She served as secretary for the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of South Green Baptist Church. She loved her flowers and spending time in the yard.
Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2009 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Jack Leslie officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Bates and her parents.
Pallbearers will be Rick Crone, Sidney Holcomb, Sammy Peach, Tommy Farrar and Phil Gann and Jason Gann.
Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. until service time Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the funeral home.
