Floyd Owen Blaylock, 70, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospice in Gulfport surrounded by all his loved ones. He was born in Tupelo, July 4, 1948 to Fonny Owen and Delores Goff Blaylock. For over 50 years, he was the owner of Blaylock's Electric Motor Shop in Tupelo until his retirement in 2011. Floyd enjoyed wrestling and traveling, especially to Las Vegas and the mountains. He was a wrestler who wrestled all over the mid-south area in the late 70's and early 80's where he was referred to as "Chuck Miller" and was one half of the tag team, The Grave Diggers. He loved his family, grandchildren and had a personal relationship with Jesus.
Survivors include his three daughters, Melinda Holland of Tupelo, Brandy Clark (Keith) of Biloxi, and Cassie Jones of Biloxi; his soul mate, Terry Blaylock of Biloxi; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Blaylock (Patty) of Tupelo; sister, Barbara Kaulfold (Harry) of Galveston, Texas; special niece and nephew, Tia and Jay Blaylock; six additional nieces and nephews; and his wrestling buddies who he considered to be extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Delores Blaylock; and sister, Betty Wilson.
Visitation will be 12 p.m. until service time Saturday, June 22, 2019 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services honoring his life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Rickey Pierce officiating. Graveside services will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be James Burchell, Jonathan Calvery, Neil Cockrell, Derick McCoy, Keith Clark, Terry Jones, Robert Bruner, and Greg Hawkes.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Electric and Machine Motor Shop and his best friend, David Wilson.
