Florine Priddy Martin

FLORINE MARTIN Tupelo - Florine Priddy Martin, 88, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at The Meadows in Fulton after an extended illness. A Tupelo native, she was born October 23, 1924, to John K. and Myrtle Allen Priddy. She retired after 35 years as bookkeeper of NMMC and then worked about 13 years at East Heights Baptist Church. She loved crocheting, working crossword puzzles, and was an avid sports fan. She was a longtime member, church secretary, Sunday school teacher and director of Children's Mission of East Heights Baptist Church and was a member of NMMC Auxiliary and Sheppard Center. She was much loved by all her family and will be greatly missed. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. Survivors include four sisters, Pauline Norton (Charles) of McMinnville, Tennessee, Linda Elaine West of Verona, Martha Sanders of Hernando and Mary Jo Pannell of Tupelo; two sisters-in-law, Diann Priddy and Sylvia Priddy both of Tupelo; three nieces, Pat Bryan (Wes) of McMinnville, Tennessee, Debbie Leech (Michael) of Amory and Judy Martin Jones of Tupelo; nine nephews, Mike Norton (Susan) of Nashville, Tennessee, Billy Wayne Carr, Steve West, David Priddy (Vicki) of Tupelo, Randy Pannell (Angela) of Starkville, Greg Pannell, Jimmy Priddy (Paula) of Huntsville, Alabama, Allen Priddy of Foxworth and Pat Martin (Becky) of Morton . She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J. B. Martin; three brothers, John Allen Priddy, Jimmy Priddy and Buster Priddy; one sister, Geraldine Carr; one nephew, Bobby Carr. Pallbearers will be David Priddy, Jim Priddy, Randy Pannell, Steve West, Michael Leech and Zach Leech. Honorary pallbearers will be, Charles Norton, Pat Martin, Mike Norton, Allen Priddy and Billy Wayne Carr. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to service time Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the funeral home.
