Tupelo - Flora Dean Phillips, 79, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. A Belden native, she was born July 21, 1929, to Christopher and Inez Horton Heatherly. Raised in Verona and a graduate of Verona High School, most of her life was spent in Lee County. She worked 20 years as a seamstress at Henry I. Segal Mfg.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Stateroom of W.E. Pegues with Dr. Ron Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery near Belden.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Langston and husband, Howard, of the Fellowship Community.
Visitation will be 2:30 to service time Thursday at the funeral home.
