Tupelo - Faye Taylor, 88, died Thursday, August 26, 2010, surrounded by her family at her residence after a brief illness. A native of Troy, she was born August 22, 1922 to J.W. and Cynthia Eddington. Throughout her life, she worked as a waitress, but her life's calling was taking care of her home. She lived half of her adult life in Flint, Michigan before returning to this area. She loved spending time with her family and especially her great-granddaughter, Taylor. She was an avid animal lover and supporter, an was particularly fond of cats. She was the widow of Waymon Taylor to whom she was married for over 60 years. She was a member of Gloster Street Church of Christ.
Services will be 4:30 p.m. Sunday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Chad Ramsey and Bro. Joe Connell officiating. Burial will be in Springville Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Riggan (Bill) and Sandra Taylor, all of Tupelo; one sister, Eva Wilhelm of California; one grandson, Mark Riggan of Tupelo; one granddaughter, Jennifer Sellars (Bo) of Saltillo; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Sellars
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her son, David; a nephew, J.W. "Cub" Eddington; two sisters and five brothers.
Pallbearers will be Ed Mattox, Don Easterling, Henry "Cubby" Lafayette III, and Lamar Walls.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the funeral home.
