Faye Lyons-Raper
TUPELO - Faye Lee Lyons-Raper, formerly of Nettleton, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at the North Miss. Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born April 19, 1920, in Plantersville to T.J. "Buddy" and Velma Phillips Lee. She was a homemaker and retired seamstress from Nettleton/Reeds Garment Company. She was a member of Family Christian Center and formerly of Richmond Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed traveling, sewing (especially quilting), cooking and being with her family and friends. She was known for beautiful quilts she made for her family and friends over the years. She loved Gospel singing and listening to the Gauithers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. James Sanders and Bro. Sammy Raper officiating. Burial will be in the Andrews Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include three sisters, Maudine Sims of Florence, Irene Lamb of Tupelo and Jean Langston of Saltillo; two brothers, Charles Lee and wife, Naomi, of Tupelo, and Jerry Lee of Nettleton; three sisters-in-law, Burma Lee of Nettleton, Mary Ann Lee of Plantersville and Rita Lee of Bryant, Ark.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, R.B. Lyons, whom she married in 1936, and Rev. S.J. Raper, whom she married in 1986; her parents; a sister, Lorine Lee; three brothers, Russell Lee, J.C. Lee and James Lee; a niece Judy Harlow; and a nephew, Douglas Lee.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time on Monday.
