EVELYN WITCHER
Tupelo " Evelyn Ford Witcher, 83, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Green Houses At Traceway. A Baldwyn native, she was born June 9, 1924 to the late Eugene and Nannie McCarthy Ford. She was a graduate of Cedar Hill High School. She worked with Hunter-Sadler Manufacturing and later Sadler Manufacturing where she retired after 40 years in the garment industry. After retiring from Sadler, she worked several years with Black's Department Store and later The Cotton Hopper Dress Shop.. Her husband of 46 years, Paul Witcher, preceded her in death June 16, 1983. She was a member of the Tupelo Firefighters Auxillary. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was active with the senior adults and the WMU.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Bryant Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Bailey of Tupelo; one son, Larry Witcher and wife, Marilyn, of Tupelo, one brother, Mack Ford of Baldwyn; four grandsons, Paul Bailey of Tupelo, Stefan Witcher and wife, Amy, of Tupelo, Jay Witcher and wife, Emily, of Madison, and Bennett Witcher of Modesto, California; two great grandchildren, Curt Bailey and Elizabeth Witcher.
Pallbearers will be Paul Bailey, Stefan Witcher, Jay Witcher, Bennett Witcher, and Curt Bailey.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2007.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund.
