Evelyn Douglass Perry Tupelo- Evelyn Douglass Perry, aged 90, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Cedars Rehab Clinic. She has been a resident of Traceway Manor for the last three years. Prior to that, she lived in Johnson City, Tennessee after retiring from W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors in Tupelo. Evelyn was a member of Verona Christian Church, D. A. R., The United Daughters of the Confederacy, The National Society of Magna Charta Dames, Colonial Dames 17th Century, American Legion Auxiliary and the Northeast Mississippi Historical and Genealogical Society. She was a charter member of Oak Ridge Christian Church in Tupelo and a charter member of the South West Christian Church in Jackson, Mississippi. She served as pianist and Sunday School teacher in the churches she belonged to at various times. She was preceded in death by her parents, R. D. and Ethel Perry; four brothers, Roy Perry, Walker Perry, Milton Perry and Bill Perry and one sister, Mary Perry. She is survived by eight nephews and nieces. She was born June 3, 1924 in Rienzi, Mississippi and died December 6, 2016.
