EVELYN N. CARROLL
Tupelo - Evelyn Newman Carroll, 75, died Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala. due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A Baldwyn native, she was born January 25, 1931 to the late Forest Pearson and Julia Elizabeth Tucker Newman. She was married to the Dr. Bill Carroll for 55 years. She was a very devoted mother and pastor's wife and enjoyed traveling. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 27, 2006 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Andy Ray, Dr. W. P. Carroll and Rev. David Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Dr. Bill Carroll of Tupelo; two sons, Dr. W.P. Carroll of Greensboro N.C. and Rev. David Carroll and wife, Laura, of Madison; three grandchildren, Benjamin Carroll of Charlottesville, Va., Kathryn Carroll of Birmingham Southern University, and Mary Evelyn Carroll of Madison.
Pallbearers will be David Henson, Britt Caldwell
Honorary Pallbearers will be her high school graduation class of 1949 and the pastors and wives of the Mississippi Conference of Methodist Ministers.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, The Mississippi Methodist Senior Services, or the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
