EVALOU VAIL

Verona-- EvaLou Vail, 91, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A Guntown native, she was born April 6, 1916 to the late William O. and Jennie M Bradley Cowley. She was the widow of Martin Vail to whom she was married for 53 years. She had moved to Kenesha, Wisc. in 1950, returing to Tupelo in 1972. She was active in the Senior Citizens in Verona. She was a loving mother and homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Verona.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. David Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Smithville Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Schlitz and husband, Richard,of Saltillo; her son, Robert W. Vail and wife, Louise, of Fulton; two sisters, Girtrue Maxey and Mary Wright, both of Smithville; three grandchildren, Peggy Vail, Vicki Johnson and husband, Johnny, and Timothy Vail and wife, Teresa; eight great-grandchildren, David Futrell and wife, Denise, Melissa Little, Michael Schroepfer, Adam Vail and wife, Kala, Andy Vail and wife, Melody, Marcus Little, Sheena Schroepfer, and Leya Vail; six great-great-grandchildren, Braxton West, Chance Futrell, Alex Vail, Kylie Vail, Allee Vail and Abby Hicks; three step-great-great-grandchildren, Dakota Bishop, Chase Weaver, Jackson Futrell; a step-grandson, Robert Schlitz.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two sisters, Odean Walden and Joyce Angle, and two brothers, Stacy Cowley and Thomas Cowley.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Vail, David Futrell, Michael Schroepfer, Adam Vail, Andy Vail, and Marcus Little

Honorary Pallbearers will be Denver Wright, Ricky Wright, Buddy Collins, and Sidney Maxey.

Visitation will be 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
