Eunice Mae Coggin

August 3, 1929 — February 10, 2018

Nettleton - Eunice Mae Coggin, 88, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018, at River Place Nursing Center in Amory after an extended illness. She was born August 3, 1929, to Kenny and Fannie Ruth Middleton Smith. In 1947, she married Charles Binford Coggin and together raised a family until his death May 26, 1989. Eunice spent most of her life working as a seamstress at Blue Bell and Lee Sportswear, but retired in the food service industry at ICC, Tupelo. She was an avid country music fan and enjoyed traveling all over to attend shows with her sisters. Every Sunday, while she was able, she cooked lunch for her family. Eunice was a wonderful woman with a giving heart who loved caring for her family. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Nettleton.



Survivors include one daughter, Linda Randle of Nettleton; one son Jimmy Wayne Coggin Nettleton; one daughter-in-law, Linda Coggin of Nettleton; seven sisters, Reather Thames of Wren, Helen Stafford of Wren, Mavis Jones of Wren, Jewel Kyle of Amory, Francis Wright and her husband, Ray of Amory, Geneva Pierson of Columbus, Sarah Richey of Tupelo; one brother, Harlon Smith and his wife Clytee of Wren; grandchildren, Nancy Moore Forcucci and her husband, Tony of Plantersville, Scott Coggin and his wife, Jessica of Nettleton, Jennifer Marble and her significant other, Doug Buchanan of Amory; eight great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 42 years; a son, Bobby Joe Coggin; and two brothers, Ariol "Sonny" Smith and Earl Smith.



Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time Monday, February 12, 2018, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.



Services will be 3:30 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2018, at Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Cecile Locke officiating. A eulogy will be given by Leeotis Hubbard. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.



Pallbearers will be Doug Buchanan, Chris Moore, Joey Pongetti, Tony Forcucci, Pat Malone, and Henry Kyle.
