Eula Mae Smith, 97, died Monday, May 21, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born May 13, 1921, to Alvin and Mary Rebecca Kilpatrick in the Greenwood area where she lived most of her life. On November 8, 1942 she married Charles T. Smith and they shared the most loving 73 years together until his death on March 30, 2016. Eula Mae was a talented seamstress and a fantastic cook. Most notably, she was a genuine Christian woman and an exceptional mother. She received great joy tending to her flower and vegetable gardens and painting beautiful works of art. Magnolias were her favorite thing to paint. Prior to her husband's declining health they attended Saltillo First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Gail Wilson of Tupelo; one son, Thomas "Donnie" Smith and his wife, Juanita of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Sandra Ledger and her husband, Bubba of Vicksburg, Kirk Smith of Eupora and Charles "Dee" Davenport and his wife, Mary of Mathiston; four great-grandchildren, Amber and Caleb Hollingsworth, Sarah Davenport and Ashley Harr and her husband, Andrew; one great-great-granddaughter, Jolee Harr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Charles Dennis "Bubba" Smith.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo and 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at Crossway Church of God of Prophecy in Eupora.
Services honoring her life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Crossway Church of God of Prophecy in Eupora with Rev. Sam Edwards officiating. Special music will be sung by Ladonna Caffey. Burial will be in Marvin Hill Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Jim Alford, Kirk Smith, Caleb Hollingsworth, James Caffey, Walter Burns, Bill Flynn.
