EUGENE H. PILLSBURY

Booneville - EUGENE HUNDLEY PILLSBURY, 81, died Thursday, December 28, 2006, at Landmark Community Assisted Living in Booneville after an extended illness. A Malden, Mass. native, he was born June 14, 1925 to the late Horace Watts and Dorothy Hundley Pillsbury. He was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Class of 1949, and a veteran of the Korean War, retiring as a Naval Commander. As a naval architect, he had lived all over the world, including California, Texas, Pascagoula, Iran, Indonesia, Haiti, Germany, and Saudi Arabia. He retired to Galtinburg, Tenn., where he lived for 15 years before moving to North Carolina to be near his daughter. He had lived in Booneville the past four years. He was married to Mary Martin Pillsbury and a member of the Epicalpal faith. He was a gourmet cook, an avid reader, and also loved classical music.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Jane Pillsbury Slater, and Ann Dawson Inman (Roger), all of Booneville; three grandsons, John Hundley Slater of Austin, Tex., Robert Dawson and Brad Dawson, both of Booneville.
