Shiloh - Eugene Quitman ?Buddy? Hood, 80, died Monday, January 28, 2013, at The Meadows in Fulton after a lengthy illness. A Mississippi native, he was born November 13, 1932, to Walter and Elizabeth Clouse Hood. He lived most of his life in the Mooreville- Mantachie area and was a longtime resident of the Shiloh Community in Itawamba County. He was the Quality Control Manager with Barber?s Milk Co. where he retired in 1994 after more than thirty years of service. He enjoyed his vegetable garden and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for many years. Later he joined Boguefala Baptist Church where he became a longtime member.
Services will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Jimmy Henry officiating. Burial will be in Mantachie Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Anita Fancher (Jim) of Mooreville and Rhonda Kelly (Jason) of Mantachie; one son, Paul W. Hood (Tammy) of Mooreville; two sisters, Ruth Franks of Tremont, Betty Jane Williams of Mooreville; one brother, Merle Hood of Saltillo; six grandchildren, Jessica, Olivia and Caleb Fancher all of Mooreville, Dalton and Caroline Hood of Mooreville and Clint Kelly of Mantachie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joe and Roger Dale Hood.
Visitation will be 5 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the funeral home.
