Eugene R. Brassfield

EUGENE BRASSFIELD Tupelo - Eugene Robert Brassfield, 89, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Eupora. He was born September 13, 1923, to Robert Vernon Cullins and Linda Blanche Mashburn Brassfield. He was a graduate of Lawhon High School and then went on to attend the University of Mississippi. He enjoyed fishing and playing dominoes and attended First Baptist Church of Mathiston. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues, with Bro. Wade Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Ellistown Cemetery. Survivors include seven children, Peggy Clark of Mathiston, Louise Collins of Houlka, Linda Diane Soffell of Trevor, Wisconsin, Tim Jones of Tupelo, Robert Brassfield of Tupelo, Dewayne Brassfield of Tupelo, and Tammy Crib of New Albany; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Helen Jones Brassfield. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at the funeral home.
