Nettleton - EUEL BROWN BRYANT, 90, died Monday, March 17, 2008, at Community Hospice in Verona after an extended illness. He was born November 13, 1917 in Ellistown to the late Lonnie Euel Bryant and Fannie Mabel Roberts Bryant. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II and in Occupied Japan after the War. He worked as a truck driver and dispatcher for LP McCarty and later as a dispatcher for Olympic Products, retiring in 1982. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping and fishing. He loved his family and spending time with them He was a member of Victory Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Robert Fowlkes and Rev. Joe Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in Gilvo Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Thera Runell Burleson Bryant of Nettleton; two daughters, June Gary and husband, Bill, of Plantersville and Tammy Bryant of Nettleton; two sons, Lonnie Bryant and wife, Paulette, of Slidell, La. and Larry Bryant and wife, Stella, of Saltillo; three half-sisters, Mildred Hamblin of Jerico Community, Helen Potts and husband, Robert, of Tupelo, Sybil Jones and husband, Jenkins, of Drew; one half-brother, Bud Garrett and wife, Nell, of Ripley; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ivanelle Hankins Mitchell; one granddaughter, Thera Rene Reid.
Pallbearers will be Bubba Clayton, Ronnie Bryant, David Bryant, Greg Bryant, Chris Bryant, and Phil Bryant.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his great-grandsons, Clay Angle, Caleb Angle, Justin Clayton, Nickolas Bryant, Kenny Bryant.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
