TUPELO - Ethel Thomas Ricks, 88, died Saturday, May 12, 2007, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Texas native, she was born May 5, 1919, to the late Joseph and Ida Mae Flanigan Johnson. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She retired from Cedars Nursing Home in 1977.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Pastor Jay Thomason officiating. Burial will be in the Andres Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn McKinney and husband, Wayne, of Tupelo, Joyce Smith and husband, Loy, of Independence, and Deborah Hubbard and husband, John, of Justin, Texas; one son, Larry Golden and wife, Anita, of Tupelo; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Pallbearers will be David, Daniel and Wayne McKinney, Jimmy, Ricky and Loy Smith, and Joseph and John Hubbard.
Visitation will continue today until service time.
