Ethel Feltman Parmer

TUPELO " Ethel Feltman Parmer, 90, entered into rest Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, Mississippi. She was born April 19, 1919, in Marion County, Ala., to the late Claude Wilton Feltman and Maryann Avery Feltman. She had lived in the Feemster Lake area since 1962 and was a charter member of Skyline Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was a faithful and loving mother. She loved gospel singing and had a beautiful alto voice. A dedicated Christian, she read her daily bible readings every day for over 50 years. She married Grady Parmer on Sep. 18, 1932, and six children came to bless this union.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Billy Langley and Rev. Tim Tutor officiating. Burial will be in the Priceville Memorial Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Gladys Mann (Roy) of Tupelo and Imarie Hughes (Steve) of Mooreville; four sons, Grover Parmer (Doris) of Fulton, T.G. Parmer (Carolyn) and Wexford Parmer (Wanda) of Tupelo and Winford Parmer (Joan) of Selma, Ala.; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Grady Parmer; three sisters, Myrtle Bishop, Ruby Wigginton and Lillie Knierim and one brother, Claude Feltman.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Len Mann, Tim Parmer, Dennis Parmer, Delane Parmer, Jonathan Parmer, Mike Parmer, Jason Farris and Jeffery Farris.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
