ETHEL ELIZABETH HATTOX
PontotocEthel Elizabeth Hattox, age 87, died Thursday, December 08, 2005, at the Pontotoc Nursing Home after an extended illness. A Tupelo native, she was born on July 4, 1918, to the late Robert E. and Essie Elizabeth Marshall Lee. She was a homemaker and an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing food for family and friends, as well as anyone in need also, the Meals on Wheels program. Mrs. Hattox was a Golden Master Duplicate Bridge player and spent many years as an active member of First Methodist Church in Pontotoc. She enjoyed traveling with friends.
Memorial Service will be at 2 pm Monday, December 19, 2005 at First United Methodist Church, Pontotoc.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Kay Hattox McDermit and husband, John, of Destin, FL; one son, David Bradley Hattox, Jr., and wife, Pamela Joy, of Pontotoc; five grandchildren, Ashley Carnathan and husband, Jason, Christopher Hattox and wife, Christina, and Stephen Eric Hattox, all of Tupelo; Michael Hattox of Pontotoc; Daphane Havens and husband, Jason of Destin, FL; special friends, John Pasley and wife, Roe, of Dallas; Mona Swindle (mother of grandchildren) and husband, Tom of Tupelo; Blanche George of Pontotoc, Hershall George of New York City, Virginia Dixon of Pontotoc; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband of 30 years, David Bradley Hattox.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the "Window Fund at the First United Methodist Church, Pontotoc.
