ETHEL MAE DUNAWAY

Saltillo - Ethel Mae Dunaway, of Saltillo, passed away January 25, 2013, at her daughter?s home, after an extended illness, at the age of 88. She was born June 9, 1924, to Claude Andrew and Alma Archibald Putt. She was employed many years with the North Mississippi Center as a nurse?s aid and with Playcraft as a seamstress. She was a long time member of Mayfield Church of Christ. She loved to sew, cook, and was known as "Big Mom" by everyone that knew her.

She leaves behind one daughter, Paulette Frazier and husband, Bob of Saltillo; one granddaughter, Suzette Ethridge and husband, Anthony of Saltillo; two great-granddaughters, Kelsie Ethridge-Hankins and husband, Andy of Tupelo and Taylor Ethridge-Witt and husband, Stuart of Saltillo; her namesake and great-great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Mae Hankins; special caregiver, Melissa Samples-Ethridge of Mooreville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Dunaway; her parents; one brother, Jack Putt.

Services will be Sunday, January 27, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Minister Clyde Mize and Minister Leon Willis officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
