Estelle Dillard

October 20, 1919 — October 23, 2007

Tupelo - ESTELLE DILLARD, 88, died Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. A Union County native, she was born October 20, 1919 to the late E.A. and Annie Harden Miller. Her husband, Elbert Dillard Sr. preceded her in death when she was 27 years of age. After his death, she devoted her life to her two her two young children, Elbert Jr., and JoAnne and her church, Gloster Street Church of Christ, of which she was a member for over 50 years. She loved the Lord and was at every service until her health made it no longer possible.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Minister Joe Connell officiating. Private burial will be in Jones Cemetery.

Survivors include her son, Elbert Dillard and wife, Brenda of Saltillo, her daughter, JoAnne Keith of Memphis; one brother, D.A. Miller and wife, Vivian, of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Alek Dillard and wife, Darla, of Saltillo, Brian O. Putt and wife, Tracy, and Jason Seven, all of Memphis; four great-grandchildren, Jay and Thomas Dillard of Saltillo, and Katie and Maddie Putt of Memphis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elbert Dillard, Sr.; her brother, Dalton Lee Miller; and her son-in-law, Truman Keith.

Pallbearers will be Steve Walden, Terry Smith, Walt Walker, Herbert Guin, David Beard, and Brian Galloway

Wayne Washington will serve as honorary pallbearer.
