Tupelo Erin Burt Caldwell, 93, died Sunday, May 1, 2011, at the Green Houses At Traceway. She was born December 24, 1917, in Verona to Sam and Mattie Sue Thomas Burt. She attended Blue Mountain College and made a career in bookkeeping. She worked with Dunlap Pontiac Cadillac, First United Methodist Church, and LIFT, Inc. She loved to visit with her friends and was considered a great cook. Devoted to her family, she was a caregiver to her sisters until their death. She was a charter member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo with Rev. Andy Ray officiating. Burial will be in Verona Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Burt Caldwell (Martha Smith) of Fort Wayne, Indiana; three grandchildren, Mark Caldwell of Berlin, Germany, Rachael Caldwell and Lauren Caldwell, both of Missoula, Montana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Caldwell, Jr. who died August 1986, her parents; three sisters, Sue Burt, Evelyn Burt and Virginia Burt; three brothers, Sam Burt, Bowen Burt and Bill Burt.
Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the funeral home.
