ELSIE CURBOW

Auburn - ELSIE CURBOW, 100, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at Courtyards Community Living Center in Fulton after an extended illness. A Lee County native and lifelong resident of the Auburn Community, she was born February 23, 1907 to the late Howard and Della Christian. While primarily a homemaker, she had also worked for several years at Milam Manufacturing. She enjoyed working in her flowers and crocheting. She was a member of Auburn Baptist Church.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Auburn Baptist Church with Rev. Bob O'Neal officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Gregory and husband, Hugh, of Southaven, one son, Rev. Howard Tison Curbow and wife, Lela Faye, of Tupelo; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; one brother, J.V. "Buster" Christian of Tupelo.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Robert Skinner Curbow; a daughter, Geneva Dickerson Bowen; and a son, Billy Joe Curbow.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Steve Curbow, Michael Dickerson, Tim Dickerson, Mitchell Dickerson, Ronald Gregory and Clark Curbow.

Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church Thursday.

Memorials may be made to Auburn Baptist Church.
