Saltillo - Elizabeth Eloise White Mallette, 70, died Saturday, April 17, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness. She was born in Itawamba County on April 12, 1940. She was raised in Lee County and lived most of her life in Saltillo. She was a retired seamstress and had worked at several local garment factories including Lucky Star and Reeds Manufacturing. She was a member of Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, watching television, gospel music and playing board games. She was the widow of Clyde Mallette, who preceded her in death, February 5, 2000.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Nickey Bennett (Debra) of Saltillo; one sister, Joyce Smith of Mooreville; seven grandchildren, Sammy Noble, Dixie Brown, Sonny Noble, Zackery Bennett, Terry Lee Bennett, Pamela Walters, and Amanda Walters; eight great grandchildren; five stepchildren, Diane Inmon, Norma Hilliard, Dorothy Hallmark, Jimmy Mallette and Mark Mallette; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; four children, Pamela Pearson, Teddy Walters, Terry Walters and Debra Bennett; her mother, Leoma Gray; her father, Harold White; one sister, Jessie May Pace; one brother, Johnny White.
Pallbearers will be Danny Smith, Sonny Noble, Zackery Bennett, Thomas Mallette, Josh Mallette and Justin Mallette.
Visitation will be 4 - 9 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010 at the funeral home.
