ELOIS M. HOGUE Tupelo - Elois M. Hogue, 87, died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the Golden Living Center after an extended illness. She was born November 4, 1926, to Ivy Lee and Minnie Mae McMullin. Elois lived in Cleveland during the early years of her life and later lived in Jackson for many years. While living in Jackson, she worked as a bookkeeper for Cal-Maine Foods until her retirement. In 1996, Elois moved to Tupelo and enjoyed volunteering at Cedars Nursing Home reading to patients. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher until her health declined. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Danny Horton officiating. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Providence Methodist Church Cemetery in Maben. Survivors include one daughter, Carole Ann Horton (Kenny) of Tupelo; one brother, Harpole McMullin (Beverly) of Mantee; one sister, Goldie Holley of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Brown (Rhea) of Belden and Jennifer Leigh Lewis (Marc) of Southaven; great-grandchildren, Riley Blair Lewis and Adelyn Claire Brown; one niece and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew. Memorials may be made to Golden Living Nursing Home Aquarium Fund, 2373 Eason Blvd., Tupelo, MS 38804.
