ELLEN STROUP
Mooreville - Ellen Estes Stroup, 84, died Saturday, December 12, 2015, at the North Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice Unit. She was born in Mooreville on March 22, 1931 to Mannie and Selma Shumpert Estes and lived all of her life near her birthplace. Ellen loved fishing and enjoyed camping and quilting. In 1977, she married Robert Stroup and together with her husband, she managed the Whitten Park Campground in Fulton. Ellen retired from Super Sagless, Inc. She was a longtime member of Boguefala Baptist Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. David Perry and Rev. Royce Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Boguefala Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Kirkman (Jonathan) of Greensboro, North Carolina and Lynn Hall (Bobby) of Saltillo; one sister, Mae Ruth of Tupelo; two brother, John Estes of Mooreville and Mannie Estes of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, Katrina Tartalia (Vince) of Elgin, Illinois, Robbie Caballero (Laura) of Greensboro, North Carolina, Jennifer Caballero of Long Beach, California, Joanna Caballero of San Francisco, California, Joe Thomas Hall (Chasity) of Saltillo and Melanie Florez (Robert) of Mooreville; seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves four step-children who live in Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmy Putt; one son, Jerry Putt; two brothers, Earnest Estes and Leonard Estes; three sisters, Lucille Allen, Marie Jones and Foy Lou Baswell.
Pallbearers will be the men's Sunday school class of Boguefala Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 12 until 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the funeral home.
