Ellar Faye Turner
Saltillo- Ellar Faye Turner, 85, died at North Mississippi Medical Center on Thursday, December 22, 2022. She was born December 3, 1937, in Mississippi to Freedman and Sara Gattis. She married Vaudery O’Neal Turner, Sr. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Ellar Faye enjoyed flowers, fishing, quilting, and animals, especially her dog, spot.
Ellar Faye is survived by her daughter, Ellar Jane “Janie” Capps and her husband, Donnie, of Saltillo; one grandson, James Ross Capps and his wife, Ashley, of Nettleton; one step-grandson, Jonathan Ross Capps of Smithville; three great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Lawrence Gattis and his wife, Freda, Morattis Finney and her husband, Ezrie, and Barbara Ann Stanford and her husband, Dalton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Vaudery Turner, Jr; and 12 siblings.
Visitation will be 2 until 4 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2022, at Pegues, Saltillo.
Services will be 12 pm. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Saltillo Chapel of Pegues with Rev. Tim Green officiating. Graveside services will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Capps, Robert Earl Capps, Michael Martin, Rickey Smith, Thomas Young, Bobby Norris, and J.R. Green.
